personality , Alex's personality almost mirrors Percy's. She is driven towards success, not caring much if she has to sweat or bleed to get there. 'Success', of course, not meaning winning a Quidditch match, like most of her foolish fellow students would think. She is geared towards the future and isn't at all concerned with something as trivial as a Quidditch game that won't get her a job in the future. She doesn't have many friends as a result, and out loud she would probably claim that 'friends were for the unsuccessful', and that her being along honestly didn't matter. Inside she would definitely disagree with herself.
If Alex stole anything from her mother, it was definitely the care and compassion. Alex has a very solid outer shell, but underneath that she's selfless. If someone she loved, and was close to, was hurting, Alex would drop what she was doing and make it all better to the best of her ability. She has a habit of forgetting what she needs in some of these instances, but she usually deals with that alright. Thankfully these instances are incredibly rare, and have only happened maybe once or twice. Alex is very sensitive to children and animals, finding them easy to be with and fulfilling to care for. She knows that with children and animals, there is no room to be selfish, and perhaps she finds this as some sort of escape.
Naturally she is very intelligent. She has a magnet sense of attraction to knowledge, and would love nothing more than to wrap herself in it on a daily basis. With knowledge comes everything else in her mind, and she believes that if you aren't well-read, you probably aren't well-anything. Her work ethic is mind-blowing, and she's usually very responsible in dealing with dates and other things she would need to take care of. Alex enjoys more than anything to sit with a book; she enjoys this more than even sitting with another human being, which may be slightly disturbing to some, but she loves it.
If you do happened to be worthy enough to be graced her her presence, Alex will no doubt open up and become a normal teenager. Yes, under all of that is an average teenaged girl, who enjoys gossip ("Even though that is an awful thing, and it really shouldn't be done all too often. It must be against some kind of rule.") and laughing and all of the things she is really supposed to enjoy. This layer is incredibly difficult to get to, and no one really has managed to except for a few adults in her life, which is unfortunate, because no one wants to act like a teenager as an adult.
If anything, Alex is driven to be the best. When you're not the best, you're nothing at all.
Alex's strength is in everything concerned with logic. She is a master at working out complicated spells or potion, and can master most puzzles with ease. She's also vaguely creative with her essays and such, though actual art has never been her forte. She is gifted with her quill, however, and can somehow use her logic to gain some kind of creativity out of her, by appealing to the professor some how. She has a gift with manipulation, which she no doubt learned from some kind of book.
She lacks any social talent, however. Had someone came up to her for the first time, she would not know how to respond. The fact that she has absolutely no knowledge about social situations bothers her, so she decides instead to simply ignore it. Alex has never found a book that has showed her how on earth she was going to be personable, though she is still looking to date. The fact that she had never taken time to learn from the other children how to relate has been her greatest downfall.

what about the story of your spiffy life ?
history , Percy Weasley had really and truly messed up big time. How could he choose his career over his girlfriend, the only woman he had and will ever love this much? He read the note on their fridge, in their tiny little flat, saying she'd gone to her mother's to think things over. When she returned, he knew she would come back to his full and undivided attention. A few days later, Penelope Clearwater walked into their flat to see Percy surrounded by a few fairies that held a banner up ("Sorry, Penny!"). They embraced, and about four weeks after that, they were engaged to be married.
Alex had a relatively normal upbringing. When she began reading (at the tender age of three), her father had doted on her with so many books. Her mother often complained that the books were too complicated, or too long, but Alex seemed to eat them up, wanting to be exactly like her father like every other little girl. He spent all of his spare time with the girl, putting her to sleep (reading to her, naturally), and he even tutored her in magic history, wanting her to have the head start he never did. Her parents were there for every scraped knee, bumped head, and every other boo boo she could get herself into, however rare those were.
She was never an adventurous child, and was scared of using most of the playground equipment in her neighborhood. She was shy, and was usually never seen with another child on the playground, not even her own family. She was much more interested in watching a bug, or trying to figure out what sand is made of. Alex was never exactly interested in friends, either--she would often go days without speaking to another kid, and usually the only kids she spoke with were her cousins, anyway. Her cousins were quite used to her behavior as a child, and she therefore was overlooked.
When Alex grew up, however, things began to change. She was no longer the apple of her father's eye. Naturally, Penny knew why--she'd grown up, and was no longer exactly childlike in his eyes. He would give her assignment when she was home from Hogwarts, and write the occasional letter when she wasn't, but other than that, ignored Alex. When he became Minister things became worse, and she would soon go months without a letter, and even his letters would get shorter. Soon she only began to see her father in the papers. Penny and Alex only grew closer, but Alex was not interested in the things Penny wanted her to be interested in--girlie things that is. Soon even their relationship began to fall, and instead Alex focussed on the one thing that would get her father's attention; she began to make the best marks she could.
At school, Alex was in virtually the same boat. She had only one friend, and that was only because they shared the same cold exterior. She focussed mainly on her school work and soon decided that because no one was very interested in being her friend, she would chase them away before they had the chance to. Alex had soon become cold and threatening, and just like she'd planned, nobody wanted to get anywhere near her. She'd decided to stay within herself from now on, and soon came to the conclusion in her fifth year that friends were in fact worthless. They were only in the way of success, and it wasn't as if her father had friends. He only had people under him, so that was all she needed.

She was a familiar sight in the large, someone musty library. She was here when she wasn't eating, or in class. In fact, she was probably in here more than she ever was in her common room or dorm. She felt safe here, surrounded by books and knowledge, and knowing exactly where she belonged here. She came here even when she didn't have anything to do in here. She would grab a book, and read, surprising herself by reading something she'd never thought to read before. To her, there was nothing like a good book to pass by a lazy Saturday afternoon, which was what this afternoon very well was. Homework had been finished, she'd tidied up her dorm room, and now there was nothing to do but read.
Miss Alex Weasley. Most people knew of her. That is, they were aware of her presence, and the fact she was not only a Weasley, but the daughter of a very important Weasley. When it happened, she was six-years-old. It was rather exciting time, to see your father's name and face plastered around the Daily Prophet, celebrating his election of Minister of Magic. It was great to finally have good money, and a nice sized house, and no longer be considered dirt poor like many people think of the Weasleys. It was great to be known like that. However, it then became just irritating. People no longer knew her as Alex Weasley, the girl with fabulous marks. No, she was the Minister's daughter. And Merlin forbid she do well on her test without someone saying something about her father under their breath.
"Well, of course it's cause of her dad."
"I hear he threatens the professors to give her top marks."
"I hear he had one person who was applying for a professor position killed because she wouldn't promise to give his girl top marks."
But four years had passed since her first year, when all of that circulated, and she now found herself with the right reputation (despite the fact it was slightly negative). People now knew her as Alex Weasley, the smart girl. She works hard. She doesn't play at all. And although Alex didn't appreciate the fact that people thought she never had fun (honestly, she had some scheduled in at least once every other week), it was still better than being the Minister's daughter, she had to say. At least now she was getting credit for all of her hard work, instead of it being left up to how hard her daddy fought for her.
Alex moved for the first time in about an hour, getting up to move away from a group of rowdy first years. She wrinkled her nose, gathered her things, and made her way down to the other side of the old wooden table. Not once did her eyes, hidden behind spectacles, leave the words on her page. She knew where everything in her bag went by heart, she could put everything together without looking. Finally she plopped down on an even older chair, setting her bag on the table beside her, and she continued to read line by line, frowning slightly as she did. It was a curious book. She'd only just begun to get into muggle literature, and was finding this book fascinating. Animal Farm, she knew, was some kind of commentary on a muggle war, but she couldn't help but chuckle at the realization that this very thing happened in their Second War against the Dark Lord Voldemort. She set the book down, got ink, a quill and parchment, and wrote herself a small note.
<i>"War is inevitable in all cultures."</i>
She would elaborate on that later, definitely.
On this Saturday afternoon, Alex found herself wearing muggle clothing. A pair of baggy jeans sat on her hips easily enough, and a normal t-shirt was on her torso. It was, of course, not too tight around her--Alex didn't think it was necessary to display the fact she was definitely a young woman any more than her bust and cheek structure did. Instead, she opted for a very casual outfit, scoffing internally at those who did insist on displaying their sexuality with no apologies. "If we were meant to display our gender this much, then we would have been raised to run around naked." Alex came to that conclusion when she did begin to grow a figure, probably around the age of thirteen. She wrinkled her nose, turning the page. Maybe one of these days, she thought to herself, I will wear something like to other girls wear. But today is not that day.
She turned the page.
