History; Adelaide was the younger of identical twins born to expectant parents on a cold Autumn night. Both she and her sister Lorelei grew up getting everything they wanted. That was expected though. Her parents treated having twin girls like a novelty. Twins made for an interesting conversation topic so Ada spent most of her childhood at parties her parents brought her to.
While she was growing up, she and Lorelei were inseperable. They were always joined at the hip and finished each other’s sentences. They were best friends, but that didn’t say much considering their sheltered childhood. Ada was never allowed to leave the house without permission (though that never stopped her) and spent hours being tutored privately. Her older brother Caleb was close to her as well, though nowhere near the extent as her twin.
Naturally she got a letter to Hogwarts when she turned eleven. Her mother’s alma mater Durmstrang sent her one but she didn’t give it a second thought. Ada couldn’t wait to be in Slytherin with her brother. However the Sorting Hat had different plans for her; Gryffindor was to be her new home. And just when she thought things couldn’t get worse, her sister was put in Slytherin. The girls’ relationship began to fray over the next few years because of the House rivalries. Her parents took the news worse than the twins though. They were deeply disappointed in their daughter and focused all their attention onto Rory instead.
Ada began to see the world differently than what her parents had told her for the majority of her life. Blood purity didn’t matter to her anymore and she began to base her beliefs in the Ministry. This wouldn’t bode well with her family so she kept quiet and went along with her parent’s plans. She would leave her family when she graduated Hogwarts and become a Healer.
Her plans were crushed by her sister however. When Ada told her sister of her plans, Rory immediately went to their parents and told them everything. Her parents were furious at their daughter and planned to arrange her before she turned seventeen. Whether or not Rory had good intentions, Ada never bothered to find out. It was the final straw for her. Within the next few months, the sisters had completely turned on each other. They couldn’t even stand to be in the same room as each other.
Amazingly enough, her older brother stuck with her through it all. Though he didn’t agree with her beliefs, Caleb still loved her sister and would do anything for her. Excluding her Ministry-based beliefs, she was still considered a “good kid.” Muggle drugs never appealed to her, unless you counted caffeine as a drug, and sex wasn’t a top priority on her list. Ada wasn’t a prude or a whore; she just didn’t care for sex.

Appearance; Ada was considered a typical Pureblood beauty. She inherited most of her looks from her father, the only exception being her eyes. It was obvious she looked just like her twin sister, but her brother greatly resembled her as well. Even if you didn’t know them, you could tell they were siblings just by looking at them.
She was rather tiny, barely reaching five foot. She was of average weight and had a lithe figure with no curves to speak of. Growing up her grandmother always criticized her mother, saying Ada was too skinny and her mother must not have been feeding her. Her skin was rather pale, though not nearly to the extent of Kalypso Malfoy.
Long silvery blonde hair fell past her shoulders and ended around her mid-back. She had naturally wavy hair, but straightened it magically most of the time. Clear blue eyes were set in a soft face. Unlike her mother’s eyes, however, hers shone with warmth.
Due to the high standards of being a Pureblood, the majority of her wardrobe consists of designer clothes. Even if she was the family’s greatest disappointment, Ada still had to look the part of a Pureblood princess. She wore light makeup, nothing too heavy or that stood out. She’d rather blend in than stand out in a crowd.
Personality; First and foremost, Ada has a typical Gryffindor temper. She’s impetuous and has a “shoot now, think later” way of life. She’d much rather get in a fistfight than talk something out. After all, actions speak louder than words.
Although she is a Pureblood, you would never know with the way she acts. For one thing, she’s a bit strange. She didn’t do things that made her stand out very often, such as cartwheeling down the corridors, but when you spoke to her, the conversation was a bit odd. She was an avid reader of the Quibbler – not that she believed any of it. It was just entertaining. Pride and reputation were merely words to her and didn’t matter. As long as her sister was still doing what they wanted, her parents didn’t care majority of the time and let her do whatever she wanted.
She’ll be rather sweet as long as you don’t piss her off or talk to her before she has coffee. She wasn’t overtly social like most girls or extremely shy. She was content with her group of friends and would do anything for them. Considering her hatred for her family and vice versa, her friends were her family. It takes a long time for her to trust you, but once she does she’ll do anything for you – even if you don’t want her to.
The main cause of her anger would be her family. Her parents were never around when she was growing up and the maids took care of her most of the time. Ada and her sister quite honestly hated each other or at least that’s how it seemed. Very deep down, Ada still loved her sister. No amount of differences can sever the bond between twins. She’d never admit it though. She’s extremely stubborn and hates apologizing. Although she claims she doesn’t care for pride, Ada has a lot of it when it comes to her sister.
Ada’s worst fear is that she’ll be arranged. Her plans to leave her life behind and start over would be shot, as being married is a bond she wouldn’t be able to escape. Her parents would make sure of that.

Roleplay Sample; Adelaide cast stones into the lake miserably. The giant squid splashed her angrily as one hit him, though at the moment she could really care less. Her sister, her own twin, had informed her parents of her plans to leave her family and the Pureblood lifestyle behind. Needless to say, her parents didn’t take it well. She received a Howler that morning from her mother, telling her how she was such a disappoint to the family and that she was going to be arranged soon enough.
She shuddered as her mother’s words came back to her. Marriage. She despised the word with every fiber of her being. To her, marriage meant entrapment. No one in her generation was happy about getting married and she was among them. Her parents hadn’t found a suitor just yet, but they would. After all, they had to years to find a man and arrange a wedding. She cursed her sister for telling her parents about her plans to leave.
Narrowing her eyes at the thought of her sister, she threw another rock into the water albeit more roughly than before. Ada trusted her sister more than anyone and she betrayed her. Not only did she betray Ada, she also ruined her future. Her dream of becoming a Healer still had a chance, but it was considered “common” among the Purebloods. Maybe she could convince Damian he will need a Healer for the upcoming war… But even if she could convince him of that, there was no convincing him of letting her escape marriage. She wanted to marry for love, not blood purity.
Dropping the rest of her stones into the shallows, Ada stood up and began walking back to the castle. It was getting late and she didn’t need a detention on top of everything. She clenched her teeth, trying to block all thoughts of marriage from her mind. She was concentrating so hard on not thinking about her mother, she walked into someone. Growling, she muttered for him to “watch where he was going” and resumed stalking away.
