YOUR CHARACTER;;*
Name; Remi Kaida Hester
Age; 16
Year; sixth
House; Hufflepuff
Blood; pure
Parents; Riley and Chelsea Hester (formerly Heath)
Wand; 10’ mahogany with dragon heartstring
Patronus; a wolf
Boggart; any of her friends in pain
Animagus; n/a
Alliance; Defaeco
Pets; n/a
History; Remi was born into a wealthy, pureblood family, their first and only child. As such, she was their prize, and she was rather spoiled. Her parents weren’t death eaters, but they admired them plenty, and she was raised to be the same. As far as they knew, she was like-minded. She pretended for their sake, managing to feign agreement. The truth was that Voldemort and everything he stood for made her sick. Murder of any kind disgusts her, especially when it’s discriminatory. She’s very open, and she’ll look at people as people, not just pureblood or muggle-born. The only thing she inherited from her parents was love of magic, she’d lived in fear that she would be a squib, right up until the day that she first showed the signs, at the age of six.
Naturally, she was ecstatic to be going to Hogwarts. Her parents were too, until the heard the news-their little girl wasn’t the greatly anticpated Slytherin, but a pathetic Hufflepuff instead. This was the start of the distance between her and her parents, but not nearly as bad as it later got. At school, away from her parent’s interference, she got bolder. She started openly defying her parents, hanging out with all kinds of people and making ablsolutely no effort to either act pureblood, or please any of the influential families. She paid for it when she went home, but she was beyond caring. She worked hard on her schoolwork, but that was the only effort she made to please her parents. She was strong-willed, and her parents could no longer keep her in hand.
But of course, all good things have to end. And so obviously Remi’s freedom ended in the worst way she could imagine. Her parents had had enough of her mingling with common mudbloods and halfbloods, and forced her to join Defaeco on her sixteenth birthday. Remi didn’t take the news well. She screamed. She cried. She tried silent treatment. Nothing worked. She was trapped in the organization that she had nightmares about, and there was nothing she could do. The silent treatment had to stop, but it didn't get any farther than coldly polite. But joining Defaeco had another effect as well-she started cutting. Always over the Defaeco brand, of course, although it stopped being a desperate attempt to tear it off after only a month. It’s the only way she feels in control of her life. They could mark her as Defaeco, but they could not stop her from cutting. It’s a sign of defiance, the only one she has.

Appearance; Remi has thick, dark red hair that comes down a little past her shoulders. It’s her favorite feature, as well as her eyes, and she typically wears it loose and un-meddled with. It’s slightly wavy, and she doesn’t bother to straighten it most of the time. She doesn’t really care about hairstyles, whether elaborate or otherwise, and she only plays with it on occasion. Her eyes are dark, almost black brown, and she likes to play with makeup to emphasize them, keeping it simple. She has a wide smile, that she displays often. Again, she really only wears simple makeup, just lipgloss, nothing fancy. That’s Remi-keeping it simple. Her earrings are the same-silver, small.
Remi’s not too tall or too short, being 5’6”. She wishes she was a bit taller, but that’s not happening, so she doesn’t dwell on it. Her skin is pale, and she likes it that way, not being into the whole tan craze. Besides, skin like that burns too easily. She’s slim, too. She has a few curves, they’re there without being embarrassing, just the way she likes it.
Just like her makeup and earrings, Remi dresses simple. She harbors a secret love of dressing up (there’s pictures to prove it), but that side doesn’t come out much. She mostly just wears the first things her hands touch. Usually, that’s jeans and a t-shirt. Nothing revealing, she won’t even look at that kind of thing. Her shoes are sneakers, plain ones. She’s pretty, in a non-slutty kind of way, even if she doesn’t know it.

Personality; If it were up to her, Remi would be on the good side. Unfortunately, it’s not. But Remi was always open-minded, even before Hogwarts. She didn’t care if you were straight or gay, black or white, Christian or Jewish, anything. You were a person, and you were to be treated well unless you gave a reason otherwise. That acceptance carried over to the pure/mixed blood debate.
Remi is also probably the most loyal friend you could ever have. She’ll keep your secrets, listen when you need someone to talk to, and sell her soul to the devil to keep you safe and happy. Of course, if she doesn’t like you, watch out. She won’t hold back if you piss her off. She has quite the temper, and it comes out at its worst when you do anything against her or her friends. If she cares about you, she’ll do anything for you; if she doesn’t, she’ll have no mercy. She’s very passionate, and she makes it known when she’s unhappy. She won’t take any shit from anyone; she’s the last person who will ever end up in any kind of unhealthy relationship.
She’s also very opinionated. She doesn’t ‘like’ or ‘dislike’ something. She loves it, hates it, or doesn’t care, and she rarely changes her mind. Thus, she’s never going to end up as a druggie or a whore. She won’t go to parties, she’s fully aware of what goes on there, and she won’t have any part of it. She tries not to preach about that, but sometimes it sneaks through. She has very little empathy for people, and that hinders her ability to understand why people would do drugs or whore themselves out. She doesn’t see any valid reason for that. And with the drugs, there’s another reason why she won’t touch them, and that’s fear. She has more willpower than she knows, but she’s terrified that she’ll get sucked in.
She might act happy and confident, but that’s the last thing she feels most of the time. In reality, she’s depressed and unsure. She has very little self-confidence, which is a surprise to the few people who know. She’s an excellent actor. She can flawlessly play the part of the happy, confident, kind, calm teenager, even when she’s dying inside. It helps her keep her secrets, the ones she doesn’t trust to anyone else. And she doesn’t trust easily, it’s just the way she is.

Anything Else?; Arranged marriages? Anyone?
Roleplay Sample; Remi Hester leaned against the wall in the Hufflepuff common room, replaying the events of that Christmas break over and over again. Wasn’t it bad enough that they forced her to join Defaeco, without wanting to put her in an arranged marriage as well? Of course, nothing was final. Riley (she refused to think of him as father, not after what he’d done) was insistent that she was not going to be put into one. Her mother, on the other hand, shouted that she was going to marry a pureblood-oh, I quiver with fear, Remi thought in disgust-if they didn’t intervene. Yeah. Intervene. Like they hadn’t done enough. Still, even if Chelsea won, they’d have to find a husband first. The ghost of a smirk crossed the girl’s face. She’d just have to show exactly how undesirable she was. It should be hard, just yatter about her muggle-born friends and they’d run away screaming.
Looking at her, you’d never think that the girl was either pureblood or Defaeco, without even taking into account that she was in the Hufflepuff common room. She was wearing a t-shirt that was obviously neither new or well taken care of, and pants of the same quality. Her expression was sad, depressed-although if anyone came in, the smile would be in place like lightening. There was no trace of pride anywhere in her slumped posture. She didn’t look like a proud little pureblood Defaeco, she looked like a girl who was having everything she wanted from life slowly torn away from her. And so she was.
She sighed, reaching into the pocket of her jeans. She pulled out the razor, regarding it as it rested on her open palm. Did she want to. Could she really? These questions came up every time. And every time the answer was the same. She shifted her palm, taking the razor in her fingers, and laid it against her wrist, right above the Defaeco mark. Yes. Blood dripped for the new wound. This was the side of her that no one knew, that no one was ever going to know. If they knew, they’d take it away, her one release, and that could not be allowed to happen. Of course, it never occurred to her that the bathroom was a safer place if she wasn’t looking to be discovered. When she got too wrapped up in things, it made her stupid sometimes.
She lifted the cold metal, cutting again. Her arms were marked with the scars of other incidents. God, they all seemed so petty now. But she couldn’t stop. What a joke, the girl who was terrified of addiction had one of her own, just as dangerous as the rest. What an ugly, fat, stupid joke. Because when Remi looked in the mirror. That was all she saw. How funny.
