History; What is a history, a his story, but since we are talking about Violet wouldn’t her story be much more interesting? Like every human being she was brought into the world by her fabulous mother, but nothing about Violet is really interesting until we get to the terrible age of two.
Well, that is a lie, the decision of her name was something that would define Miss Vi Daaé for the rest of her life,
Vi’s parents both had very strong opinions on what the name of their first and hopefully only child would be. Olivia felt that the unborn baby should have a flower name like all the women in her family. It is clear that Olivia won, since violet’s are popular purple flowers often found in gardens. Had Alex won that battle Violet would most likely be Io, after one of Jupiter’s moons. Alex wanted to name the baby girl this to honor his father, Jupiter Sinclaire. Once the first name was decided, the picking of the middle names started. At least this time both parents had an idea were they wanted to go with it. With Olivia being a performer and Alex’s having at great love of theatre a name from the stage was in order. Originally they had decided on Juliet, but resembled Violet too much. So the search continued, Plum was considered, but plums were purple and so were violets. It seemed as though Alex’s choice for a given name would be Violet’s middle name. Violet Io Sinclaire. It had a nice ring to it, but it was certainly not what the Sinclaire’s were looking for. Then a miracle happened one night in London’s West End. Olivia was attending a performance of Webber’s Phantom of the Opera with her mother and they were both captivated by the character of Christine, but Christine was the right feel for the rest of the name so instead they took her last name Daaé. And that is the story of Violet’s name. Her nick name Vi Daaé was coined by her grandfather and it just seemed to stick like glue.
So we shall skip the first steps and the diaper changes to the first time Violet experienced magic. Two, the glass coffee table crashing down on top of her. The pointy shards would have destroyed her cute little face and ripped at her pudgy toddler arms. Thankfully Olive saved her precious daughter. And so an illuminating life of magical mayhem begins. Well can you really say that? Violet while she is proud and happy that she is a witch, it bore its burden for most of her life. Despite the pure blood in her parents veins the made the decision to reside in a mainly muggle community. Call them blood traitors and muggle lovers, but Olive and Alex were no such thing. They just wanted to raise a family as normally as possible. After all Hogsmeade is the only completely magical town in Britain, the witches and wizards that do live there are just littered throughout the countryside. So the Sinclaires lived in an average suburb, with average neighbors with average jobs.
Anyone can imagine just how much fun Violet had in her childhood years. With all of her childhood friends either beings relatives or muggle children she had a very dull childhood. Only friends her parents approved of were allowed to play inside the house. In other words no one. Violet suffered through the horrors of telling children she was home-schooled, now looking back she feels that they must have thought she had so kind of weird illness or wasn’t potty trained or something along those lines. Vi had none of those problems, just the odd habit of breaking things without touching them. Of course never seeing an air of shock when something astonishing would happen. So Violet grew up believing that all children’s had these odd mishaps. How very wrong she was. At the age of eleven Violet learned she was different. When one day the post arrived by owl. OWL! Vi almost had a juvenile heart attack and cardiac arrest was even more likely when she learned that post had been arriving by owl and people carriers for a long time. Once the initial shock wore off, disappointment set in like a big foggy cloud that loomed over her for the summer. In January of the same year she had gained acceptance to the National Academy of Dance and was no longer able to attend. Her tears and whining faded on her first trip to Diagon Alley. It was perhaps one one of the most memorable moments of her short life the best part was getting her wand of course.
Her manipulative personality only grew when she met her best friend, Ines Dale, on the Hogwarts Express. It was quite literally love at first sight. Of course the girls have grown up quite a bit since the eleven year old habit of passing notes.
School was fine Vi Daae an average student, with average marks and average magical ability. The only real things that Violet ever excelled at was social networking. Her parents approved of their daughter playing the game, until they received word that another pureblood family was eager to arrange a little wedding. /Vi Daae is not currency!/ She remembered her father’s words all too clearly. Her mother an father while they were without a doubt the direct products of family member reproducing. Olivia and Alex, are not directly related for a minimum of ten generations ensuring a genetically diverse child.
Being a Gryffindor was something that Violet was really unwilling to accept. She was certainly not brave or courageous and her honesty was questionable. Then again she was not the brightest crayon in the box, or really loyal. Maybe she belonged in Slytherin, she was manipulative on occasion and cheated all the time. Her element was even water according to the fortune teller. Being in Gryffindor will always be just one of those mysteries.
Deep down Vi knew that the two would eventually cave, her father was proud of the Death Eaters he knew and was extremely disappointed when his child wasn’t sorted into Slytherin. Oh well, he could still follow the Defaeco. Olivia just wanted Vi to be happy, but she followed Alex faithfully in everything he did.
With the future uncertain, Vi doesn’t know where she will end up. A secret big part of her just wants to give up magic and be a dancer like she had always planned and another smaller part just wants to accept her life as a witch. She still doesn’t know when life got so complicated.

Appearance;
Miss Sinclaire is her father’s child in appearance no matter how you slice it. She lacks her mother’s dark features and has Alex’s blonde hair and grey green eyes. Their facial structures and similar and it would seem that really the only thing that Vi received from Olivia is her slender build. She often wonder if she had any siblings if they would look like Alex or Olivia or would even be a healthy mix of the two.
Her face is often described as heart-shaped and it painted with a creamy porcelain complexion that is blemished only by a little mole on her right cheek. Her eyes are roughly the shape of bamboo leaves, she knows the from the bamboo tress in the green at the botanical gardens. The color of her eyes is really quite spectacular, at birth they were bright sky blue, but as she grew to be a few days old the became more of a green and then eventually the grey that they are today. She often outlines her eyes with and eyeliner pencil that is brown and black when she wants a more defined look. Her eyebrows and plucked into a natural looking arch. Violet’s nose is just a little bit too big for her face but overall it matches the rest of her face. Her nose is pierced, but she rarely has anything in it. Big pink lips hide her perfectly straight white teeth, she is addicted to brushing them. It is easy to see that despite there straightness a few teeth are shorter than the others, most people don’t really notice this but it drive Vi Daae insane. Her hair is one of her favorite parts of herself because she can work with it so much to create new looks. Her hair is a light almost platinum blonde color naturally, but like many girl she plays around with dye and has had black hair and been a brunette. The style of it changes quite often as she never likes to keep it the same bland thing for long. On a typical day the white blonde strands are left free to move about as they choose.
Violet’s body is like a willow tree, strong but delicate all at once. She has never been overweight or had any type of eating disorder. Violet is is quite secure in her own skin. She does try to workout and do a little bit of of yoga to keep up her flexibility and core strength. She is of average height for a girl, five feet and six inches. She does wish that she was just a little bit taller, though.

Personality;
Violet is very private and while she spends a lot of time making new friends, she doesn’t really let many them in to see what she is really like. She worries about what they think of her. Are they like her father who thinks she is just another pretty face with no brains behind a polished mask or due they she her are her mother does rich is class and style with impeccable taste in just about everything. But then again, they might just see Violet as she sees herself as a failure, a disappointment. Violet doesn’t know why she sees these things in herself, they are just there when she looks in the mirror, eats her breakfast and lies her head down to sleep. She supposes that it is because she has no real intentions of sticking with the wizarding world once she has left Hogwarts.
She wants to go to LA and be a star. Like her idol Audrey Hepburn. She remembers the day that she told her parents she wanted to be just like her muggle heroine, her father laughed and told her it would never happen and Olivia just smiled and said that’s nice dear. How old was she at the time? Thirteen or fourteen at least. After that day she noticed a change in herself, that she carried so kind of guilt for being pureblood and not really appreciating it or using it to her benefit. She didn’t much the word Mudblood, but she found herself using it on occasion. Vi Daae is going through a period of identity crisis due to the conflicting opinions of those around her and is having a hard deciding between what she knows is right and what she is told by the people around her. When she forms her own opinion she will be much better off.
Despite her obvious issues with right and wrong, Vi thinks she is a pretty okay person, not a doormat but certainly not the wicked witch of the west. Though many would argue. For someone who is so indecisive she has managed to have somewhat of a backbone, shocking. And a mean streak at that while most people would say that Violet is kind there are certainly those who think she is a terrible girl that doesn’t deserve life. Vi Daae hopes that there are more people that like her than those that don’t but it is hard to tell, with everyone always wearing a mask, including herself.

“Vi, wake up, we are going to Manchester to see Aurora,” it was her mothers voice cooing in her ear. What was her mother doing in her room. Awakening her obviously, but usually she just pounded at the door, never actually coming in to see her daughter sleeping. Violet shrugged and batted her mother away she made a few snorting noises and then rolled over to see the sun peeking through her window. It had been a while since she had spelt in so late with school and everything keeping her busy, but now she was free to do as she pleased somewhat. But then sometimes her father would answer, and he was not quite as reserved, her would say something like, ‘My dear sister, you know I would never have married Olivia if it weren’t for her beauty!’ and on the inside Vi would hate father for tormenting her mother in such away in front of Aurora. Walking to her bathroom she made the decision to be a dirt bag and not shower, she had one the day before and she had spent most of the day sleeping so it wasn’t that big of a deal really. Vi removed the black pajama shorts and the white tank top she had worn, leaving them on the floor as she brushed her teeth and hair. She walked back to her room and pulled on her selection. Looking in the mirror she saw just how lacking of a tan she was. Oh well.
Walking into the hall and past her bathroom, she opted not to have any make-up on. Violet fancied herself to be attractive even without her armor of mascara and blush. She walked downstairs, her father barely noticed his daughters presence and her mother showered her with compliments. Walking into the kitchen she noticed her favourite breakfast things were already out they were setting her up for something and she wanted to know what it was.
“Mum? What’s this for?” Vi Daae asked inquisitively, she knew from instinct her mother had done this.
“Well, you are going to Aurora’s today, I just want you to be happy,” she knew her mother was lying. You could hear it in her mousy tone.
Then expectedly her father cut into the mother/daughter conversation, “Violet Daae Sinclaire, my sister received an owl a little while ago from a pureblood family that would like to have an betrothal set between you and their son. Now nothing is certain, if they don’t meet certain criteria we won’t even speak of this again”
Violet opened her mouth to protest, but her father silenced her with a move of his hand.
“Naturally you will comply to our wishes as parents, not that you have been an overly rebellious child, and I know that we have discussed this before and we as a family decided that we would never set you into this predicament, but you blood status is very valuable and I am sure as you already know you are not truly related to any of Britain’s pureblood families, so your children wouldn’t be inbred nuts,” his voice was so monotonic as he set out this monologue. It was unbelievable.
“Well no, Father, I want to fall in love, I want all of those things!” She could feel the tears swelling in her eyes. She left the room before he could answer. They didn’t even call out to her. From the safety of her room she could her her mother explaining that these were just growing pains to her father.
